Pokémon Unite shutdown: when it stops working

Pokémon Unite stops working on Tuesday, March 23, 2027 at 00:00 UTC, which is 8 pm Eastern or 5 pm Pacific on Monday, March 22. After that you can't log in or play a match on Nintendo Switch or on mobile, since both versions close on the same date. The Pokémon Company's notice, dated October 26, 2026, gives no reason.

What stops working on March 23?
Logging in and every online match. The notice says players "will no longer be able to log in to the game or participate in battles." The company will also stop publishing its content guidelines for online platforms, and video and image support ends with the service.
The notice says nothing about offline play, so there is no confirmed way to keep playing after the date.
What can I still buy or use?
Gems you already own can be spent until the service ends. New UNITE Club memberships and renewals are suspended; current members keep their benefits until their period runs out. The November 12 event lets players get Holowear and Unite licenses.
The notice doesn't mention refunds, and Nintendo Life's report doesn't either. It also doesn't say whether the game will leave the Nintendo eShop or the mobile stores before March. As of October 29, 2026 both are unconfirmed.
What is the Library feature?
The November 12 update adds it. After the shutdown it lets players view certain records and in-game content, but only if they finished the required data download before service ends. Players who skip the download can't use it afterward, and its data generally can't be moved to another device.
Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo still goes ahead as announced. If your group needs a new game, the lists of multiplayer games on Switch and co-op games on Switch can be filtered by player count.
