What is Final Fantasy XIV like?

You create a character in the world of Eorzea and follow a long story through dungeons, boss trials and raids. One character can learn every class and switches between them by changing weapons.

Everyone needs characters on the same data center, or uses Data Center Travel to meet there. A dungeon takes a light party of four with one tank and one healer, while trials and raids take a full party of eight, so groups agree on jobs before queuing together in the Duty Finder. Each duty unlocks through the main story, so friends have to reach the same quest before they can run it together. Alliance raids put three parties of eight into one 24-player fight.
