You open a room of up to 16 and take turns in short duels where every read of your rival counts.

Online, one of you opens a room of up to 16 and picks a format: a single or double elimination tournament, a league where everyone faces everyone, kumite where one player takes on the rest in a row, or red against blue teams that replace whoever loses. While you wait you watch the other matches from the lobby and send stamps. Offline, two people fight on the same screen. Crossplay covers PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Switch 2, and training mode has tutorials for anyone new.
