Xbox Game Pass co-op games

Updated November 2, 2026

The best co-op games on Xbox Game Pass to start with are It Takes Two if two of you play, Sea of Thieves for four, and Gears 5 if you want to finish a campaign on the couch. Below are 35 games, with console or PC, split screen, online players and crossplay.

What are the best co-op games on Xbox Game Pass?

They run from the easiest to recommend to the ones that ask for more time or a group that already plays. Everyone needs the game on their own account, through Game Pass or bought.

  • Xbox

    2 online2 on one screen

    Crossplay: Partly

It's in Game Pass on Xbox, not in PC Game Pass.

Two people, on one screen or online, and every level gives each of you a different ability, so neither can carry the other. It's the one to start with if only two of you play.

  • XboxPC

    4 online

    Crossplay: Yes

No split screen: everyone needs their own screen.

A pirate ship needs a crew, so one steers, one handles the sails, one fires the cannons and up to four sail together. Other crews share the sea and can sink you for your loot.

  • XboxPC

    10 online3 on one screen

    Crossplay: Yes

Three can play the campaign on one screen, and up to five hold a base against waves in Horde. The pick for a shooter you finish together on the couch.

  • XboxPC

    4 online2 on one screen

    Crossplay: Yes

Four play the campaign together online, or two on a split screen on console, and a squad of four can join Horde Siege, where three squads defend a city. Newer than Gears 5 and built around the same cover shooting.

  • Xbox

    8 online2 on one screen

It's the 2006 original, so it looks and controls like its era.

The first Gears of War, from the original Xbox 360 and playable through backward compatibility. Two play the whole campaign together, on one screen or online, so it's the short, old-school way to share a Gears story.

  • XboxPC

    4 online4 on one screen

    Crossplay: No

Four cook against the clock in kitchens that move, split or catch fire, and you end up shouting orders across the room. A session fits in an hour, so it suits a group where not everyone plays often.

  • XboxPC

    4 online4 on one screen

    Crossplay: No

The Xbox store lists two on one screen; Steam lists four.

A silly open world of jobs, pranks and chaos where everyone plays a wobbly character. Up to four play online and you can split the work or just wreck the town together.

  • Xbox

    2 online2 on one screen

It's in Game Pass on Xbox, not in PC Game Pass.
