What is Darktide like?

Drafted by the Inquisition, you play convicts sent into a Warhammer 40,000 hive city on missions against hordes of heretics and mutants. You switch between melee and ranged weapons.

From the Mourningstar, the squad picks a mission at the Mission Board and sets the difficulty, from Uprising up to Auric. Each player brings a class such as Veteran, Zealot, Psyker or Ogryn, and you fight through the hive toward the main objective, picking up scriptures and grimoires along the way. A downed player who isn't revived in time is captured, and the team can free them further on. Since March 2026 there's also Expeditions, where you scavenge open zones on a 15-minute clock and call a Valkyrie to leave.
