What is Dead Island 2 like?

Up to three of you play the Los Angeles campaign, fighting zombies up close with weapons you mod.

Each of you picks one of six Slayers and joins the host's story save, which opens up to co-op after the first missions in Bel-Air. You fight your way through the zones of Los Angeles mostly with melee weapons, which you repair and mod at workbenches. Your progress and items carry over to your own save, although you can't join a friend who's further along in the story. Neighborhood Watch, a separate horde mode, gives the group four in-game days to fortify a shelter before the horde hits on the fifth.
