What is Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker like?
Two of you explore dioramas you rotate to find the way, each with your own Toad, looking for every level's gems.
Each course is a small diorama that you rotate to find the way, and Captain Toad can't jump because of his heavy backpack, so you get around by walking and pulling up turnips to throw. In Partner Adventure, the second player takes a Joy-Con and controls another Toad (Toadette or a purple Captain Toad) in every course, and both can turn the camera, though player one has priority. You're after the Power Star at the end, with three Super Gems hidden per course and a bonus objective once it's cleared.
Will your group like Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker?
Families with a kid who likes puzzles more than reflexes, since the challenge is turning the diorama to find the path. It's rated E (PEGI 3).
Groups of three or more, since it takes two, or pairs who'll fight over the camera, because on one screen player one's view wins. Online play exists only through GameShare between two Switch 2 consoles.
