What is Age of Empires IV like?

Each of you leads a medieval civilization such as the English or Mongols, gathering resources, building a town and training armies to destroy the enemy. Civilizations play differently, and you age up by building landmarks.

The host creates a custom lobby, picks the map and fills empty slots with AI, so you can face each other or team up against the computer, up to 4v4. Everyone starts with a town center and a few villagers. Most matches end when one side destroys every enemy landmark, although holding all the Sacred Sites for ten minutes also wins, and the host can switch any victory condition off. Once the group feels ready, there are ranked team matches against strangers.
